The Orioles today announced home game times for the 2020 season, including the introduction of 6:35 p.m. ET start times for all weeknight games prior to Memorial Day and after Labor Day. The earlier start time allows families with children to enjoy more games on school nights.
“The Orioles are committed to providing the most family-friendly experience in Major League Baseball,” said Greg Bader, Orioles Senior Vice President, Administration & Experience. “The earlier start time for select weekday games is based upon extensive feedback from our fanbase as we continue to explore efforts that can enhance the Oriole Park experience for families, children, and fans of all ages.”
The 2020 season will open on Thursday, March 26, at 3:05 p.m. at Oriole Park against the New York Yankees. The home schedule features nine 4:05 p.m. Saturday afternoon start times and six mid-week day games. Home weeknight games during the summer (after Memorial Day and before Labor Day) will remain at 7:05 p.m. All Sunday home games will continue to start at 1:05 p.m. and conclude with Kids Run the Bases for all children ages four to 14.
The season slate will feature 16 weeknight 6:35 p.m. games, with nine such games taking place in April and May and the final seven during the month of September, including all four games of the team’s final homestand of 2020.
Along with earlier game times, the Orioles continue to offer many popular family and kids-oriented initiatives. Kids Cheer Free allows parents to bring children ages nine and younger to the ballpark free of charge with the purchase of a regularly-priced Upper Deck ticket. Oriole Park at Camden Yards also features the Kids’ Corner, an activity area for children of all ages, and a variety of specially-sized and priced concessions items, along with one of the most flexible food and beverage policies in professional sports.
