Felix Pie was hit by a pitch in the wrist/forearm area tonight at Double-A Bowie, but he stayed in the game. He’s 0-for-2.
Disaster averted.
Update: Pie is 1-for-3. If you have him in some weird pool…he’s 1-for-3.
Steve Johnson allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings, but he also walked five Akron batters.
Control has never been an issue with him. Maybe the umpires do more squeezing in the Eastern League.

Nolan Reimold has suddenly become Triple-A Norfolk’s everyday first baseman. He’s starting there again tonight and batting cleanup.
The Orioles loaded the bases with one out in the first inning against Jon Lester and didn’t score.
Big mistake.
Lester is back to owning them. He’s retired the last 10 batters he’s faced, making that Adam Jones double-play grounder to end the first stick out like a sore thumb.
Maybe somewhere a little more south.
Interim manager Juan Samuel raced out of the dugout to argue the call, believing that Kevin Youkilis came off the bag while taking the throw to complete the double play. The argument apparently escalated during the commercial break, so Samuel got his money’s worth.
That’s pretty much all I ask these days. Love the emotion. And Samuel wasn’t ejected, so it’s all good – except the score.
