The Orioles are one game ahead of the last-place Red Sox and trying to avoid sharing the division basement. They’ve lost 12 of their last 15 games.

Christian Vázquez is 11-for-16 against Cobb and J.D. Martinez is 11-for-22 with five doubles and a home run.

Left-hander Martín Pérez has a 3.88 ERA and 1.259 WHIP in 11 starts with seven home runs allowed in 58 innings. Valaika hit one on Aug. 22 to account for the only run off Pérez in seven innings.

Núñez is 5-for-15 with two doubles and two home runs against Pérez.

Left-handed hitters are 7-for-37 (.189) against Perez.
