It’s been a while since we have done this here, so away we go. Time for another day when the readers bring up the topics, and we all dive in with opinions and try to answers any and all questions about the Orioles.

Readers, please ask questions in the comments section and I’ll do my best to provide answers. As always, others are most welcome to add their thoughts.

Some recent topics written about here that could be part of the discussion include the 40-man roster and the recent addition of six players. I wrote here about what that means about the Orioles improved farm system.

Speaking of the farm, I interviewed Jonathan Mayo of MLBPipeline.com via Zoom for this entry about the Orioles farm and player development operation.

Rutschman-Bullpen-High-ST-sidebar.jpgMayo believes Adley Rutschman could make his big league debut in 2021.

“There are certain players that just their singular presence moves you up some and Adley Rutschman is one of the those kind of players,” Mayo said. “I would be surprised if he’s not in the big leagues in 2021. I think he got valuable experience at the alternate site catching high-level pitchers that ended up in the big leagues, guys like Keegan Akin and Dean Kremer. And I don’t think there is a whole lot he needs to do to contribute at the big league level. It’s not going to take very long, just time to get some more reps and at-bats in competition. But if you told me he could be in Baltimore by the All-Star break, I would have no problem believing that.”

In this entry, I took a closer look at O’s skipper Brandon Hyde. He seems to be the right guy at the right time with this organization. I like his ability to relate to young players and his player development background that helps him guide a rebuilding team.

In early November in this space, we took a look at the O’s picking up their 2021 option on shortstop José Iglesias.

So whether it is 40-man adds, the upcoming Rule 5 draft, projecting the 2021 rotation or bullpen, discussing the DFA of Renato Núñez and/or any other O’s topic on your mind, bring it to the table here today.
