Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said yesterday that he wanted to give Ryan McKenna more at-bats against major league pitching and the team a longer look at him. McKenna is starting in left field this afternoon against the Blue Jays in Sarasota.
McKenna is batting ninth. Austin Hays is leading off and playing center field.
The lineup also includes Trey Mancini as the designated hitter and Freddy Galvis batting cleanup.

Ramón UrÃas is starting at third base, with Rio Ruiz remaining out of the lineup. Ruiz hasn’t played since Saturday.
Tyler Nevin is playing first base and Jahmai Jones is the second baseman.
Left-hander Keegan Akin makes his first start and second appearance of the spring, with his debut also coming against the Blue Jays. Akin followed Matt Harvey in Dunedin, allowed a run during a 33-pitch third inning and retired the side in order on 10 pitches in the fourth.
The Jays are starting right-hander Ross Stripling, acquired from the Dodgers on Aug. 31, 2020. He’s projected to begin the season in Toronto’s rotation while Nate Pearson recovers from a strained groin muscle.
