Hays felt his hamstring grab while making a catch in right-center field during Saturday’s game against the Rays, but he played yesterday.
Cedric Mullins returns to center field and the leadoff spot after sitting out yesterday’s loss, the 15th in a row on the road. Trey Mancini is the designated hitter,
Ryan Mountcastle is the first baseman and Pedro Severino is catching.
Indians rookie right-hander Jean Carlos MejÃa is making his sixth appearance and third start. He’s allowed four runs and six hits with four walks and 10 strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings.
MejÃa started at Camden Yards on June 4 and tossed three scoreless innings with two hits. His next start, in St. Louis, lasted only two-thirds of an inning and he allowed four runs and three hits with two walks.
