Dr. Steve Shin performed the surgery in Los Angeles.
Lakins was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Saturday.
The olecranon is the part of the ulna that cups the lower end of the humerus, creating a hinge for elbow movement. It’s the pointy area, if that makes more sense.

John Means threw a bullpen session this afternoon at Camden Yards in preparation for his next start Friday night with Double-A Bowie.

Third baseman Maikel Franco is back in the lineup tonight after missing the Angels series with a sprained right ankle.

Austin Hays is in left field and Anthony Santander is in right. Ryan Mountcastle is the first baseman.

Pedro Severino is catching Spenser Watkins, who’s making his first career start and second appearance.
