Austin Hays will try to extend his hitting streak to 15 games. He’s 19-for-51 (.373) with 12 RBIs, eight extra-base hits and 10 runs scored during the streak.
Mullins has homered in three consecutive games to run his team-leading total to 27. He’s recorded an RBI in a career-high four straight games.
Four of his past five home runs have been hit in the sixth inning or later.
Matt Harvey is making his 28th start. He tossed six scoreless innings against the Royals, with three hits allowed, on July 18.
Harvey pitched for the Royals in 2020, making seven appearances (four starts) and allowing 15 runs and 27 hits in 11 2/3 innings.
Harvey snaps the Orioles’ rookie starter streak at four games in a row. The club record is seven in September 2008.
Mike Minor is the latest left-hander to start against the Orioles. He’s also the third in a row who’s a former first-round pick.
Minor is 8-12 with a 5.25 ERA and 1.258 WHIP in 27 starts. He’s made seven career appearances against the Orioles and allowed eight earned runs (nine total) in 26 2/3 innings.
