Mancini came out of last night’s game after one plate appearance with right abdominal soreness. Severino struggled to get up the first base line on a double play grounder in the sixth inning due to soreness in his leg/groin area, and Austin Wynns replaced him.
Mancini is the first Oriole to walk in eight consecutive games since Brian Roberts in 2009.
Ryan Mountcastle is the only player in Orioles history to record at least 100 RBIs through his first 161 career games. His 68 extra-base hits through his first 161 games are the second-most by an Oriole behind Manny Machado (69).
Left-hander John Means has faced the Yankees twice this season and allowed three runs and 10 hits in 9 2/3 innings. Giancarlo Stanton hit a solo home run on Sept. 3.
The Orioles have allowed 51 runs and 18 home runs in the last four games.
The Orioles are 7-10 against the Yankees and trying to win an eighth game for the first time since 2016.
Former Orioles Rule 5 pick Néstor Cortes Jr. has a 2.70 ERA and 1.077 WHIP in 18 appearances (10 starts). He opposed Means earlier this month and held the Orioles to one run with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Mancini hit a solo home run.
