In a brief e-mail exchange with O’s president Andy MacPhail, he said Zach Britton is “not” being considered to join the Orioles to start this weekend.
So we can rule out any talk of Britton starting in Brad Bergesen’s spot on Saturday.

Britton, who is scheduled to start for Norfolk tonight, is 1-1, 2.05 in four Triple-A starts since he moved up from Bowie. Over his last 11 starts between Bowie and Norfolk, the lefty is 6-1, 1.29. His ERA over that span leads all minor leaguers in that stretch.
Britton was recently named the 10th best prospect in the minor leagues by Baseball America in its mid-season report and he pitched a shutout inning for the US Team in the MLB Futures Game.
Britton is 8-4, 2.39 in 19 games, 18 starts between Double and Triple-A this year. He has thrown a total of 109 innings, after throwing 140 last year for Frederick. The O’s will likely keep Britton to around 170 innings for this season, so he’s got 60 or so left for this year before they would probably shut him down.
