Both teams were shut out through four innings, but Howie Kendrick just ripped a two-run homer to left field with no outs in the fifth. Kendrick got hold of a 96 mph fastball.

Josh Bell bounced a throw to first base in the fifth inning, but Ty Wigginton kept his foot on the bag for the out.

Bell’s arm is a greater concern than his hands and range. The ball’s going all over the place. He clearly seems to be pressing, in the field and at the plate. The kid needs to relax.
