Down on the farm, Double-A Bowie defeated Portland, 4-3, as Ryan Adams doubled twice to tie Rick Short (2000) and Oscar Salazar (2007) for the team record with 39.

Brandon Waring went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Joel Guzman was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks. Pedro Beato earned his 13th save.

Brad Bergesen (3-9, 6.63 ERA) opposes Chicago’s John Danks (11-8, 3.40 ERA) tomorrow night at Camden Yards. Kevin Millwood (2-11, 6.05 ERA) opposes Gavin Floyd (7-8, 3.54 ERA) on Saturday, Jeremy Guthrie (5-11, 4.21 ERA) opposes Mark Buehrle (10-8, 4.05 ERA) on Sunday, and Brian Matusz (4-11, 5.26 ERA) opposes Edwin Jackson (7-10, 4.97 ERA) on Monday.
