The Orioles’ rotation has churned out three straight quality starts, and Brad Bergesen could be headed for a fourth after allowing one run and four hits through five innings.
The last time this happened? May 29 to June 1, 2009. The pitchers? Bergesen, Jeremy Guthrie, Jason Berken and Rich Hill.
Yes, Rich Hill.

In Bergesen’s last start, Kansas City’s right-handed hitters were 1-for-18 (the only hit a seventh-inning single by Mike Aviles.) They’re 3-for-11 tonight, including Gordon Beckham’s solo home run in the third that tied the game, 1-1.
Cesar Izturis isn’t in tonight’s lineup, so he’s stuck on 999 career hits. No idea why the numbers aren’t hanging on the warehouse.
Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail presented Jim Gentile with a check for $5,000 before tonight’s game, the amount Gentile would have received for leading the American League in RBIs in 1961.
Don’t ask about the interest.
The first 10,000 fans 14 and under attending tomorrow night’s game will receive a Matt Wieters Kids Chest Protector Backpack.
The Hall of Fame inductions and a backpack. No excuse for staying home.
Double-A Bowie trainer Joe Benge has been named the Eastern League’s Athletic Trainer of the Year. Benge has been in the organization for 10 years, the last three in Bowie.
