WHAT: Members of the Orioles Orange & Black Gives Back employee volunteer program, as well as Manager Brandon Hyde, General Manager Mike Elias, and other representatives from the team will participate in a Habitat For Humanity build day on Friday, September 9. Projects will include painting, attaching siding, cleaning the build site, and more.
Located at 1154-1158 Ward Street, the newly constructed row homes (scheduled for completion in Fall of 2022) will mark Habitat Chesapeake’s 40th completed home in the South Baltimore neighborhood over the past 14 years. These three homes will be available for purchase to families in Habitat Chesapeake’s Homeownership program.
As part of the club’s ongoing community efforts to Strengthen Our Community and Empower Our Youth, and in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the club has partnered with Habitat For Humanity to provide housing to those in need in our own backyard for decades to come. Located in the shadows of Oriole Park in the Pigtown neighborhood, the Orioles have spent this season helping to build three new-construction homes, two rowhome rehabs, and a community greenspace, among other projects.
WHEN: Friday, September 9, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. ET
WHERE: 1148 Ward St., Baltimore, MD 21230
* Street parking is available around the site on W Cross St. and W Ostend St. (perpendicular to Ward St.), or on the 1100 and 1200 black of Ward St.
