Cesar Izturis singled with two outs in the second inning for the 1,000th hit of his major league career.

Too bad the Orioles couldn’t do more with four hits and a Chicago error. They managed only one run because Adam Jones grounded into a double play and Jake Fox tried to score from second base on Josh Bell’s infield hit.
Fox must have assumed that the ball got past second baseman Gordon Beckham and didn’t look back.
Former Oriole alert: The Dodgers purchased Jay Gibbons’ contract from Triple-A Albuquerque. He’s back in the majors.
The Dodgers designated Garrett Anderson for assignment to create roster room, obviously confusing him with Garrett Atkins.
Gibbons was batting .347 with 28 doubles and 19 home runs in 376 at-bats at Albuquerque.
