Jones has hit 10 of his 17 homers on the road this year. He hit 8 homers in June and has four since. He has hit three since the All-Star game after hitting 14 before.
By the way, Jones is now 6 for 10 in his career vs. Andy Sonnanstine with two doubles and three homers.
Jones also just bailed Brian Matusz out of a terrible last of the fourth, by throwing a runner out at the plate to end the frame. Tampa scored five in the 4th to take a 5-3 lead vs. the O’s and Matusz. They got a Kelly Shoppach Grand Slam on a 2-2 pitch to take the lead.
There will be no quality start today.
