Buses for Baseball provides the kids with roundtrip transportation to Major League ballparks, and once there, the kids receive free tickets, food, beverages, and souvenirs. The program will give more than 1,500 kids a big league experience this season.
Along the same lines, OriolesREACH hosts groups of underprivileged youth at the ballpark throughout the season as part of the IBEW-NECA OriolesREACH Gameday Experience Program. Participants receive game tickets, concessions vouchers, and an O’s T-Shirt and cap, as well as transportation to and from the game.
Tickets for the Gameday Experience Program are provided by Orioles players, and 150 kids from the Chesapeake Center for Youth Development will enjoy tonight’s game courtesy of Kevin Millwood.
Finally, also on the slate for tonight’s game at Oriole Park is a special appearance by Miss Maryland USA 2010, Simone Feldman, who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
