Matt Wieters was mired in a 7-for-38 slump when he lined a double to left field in the fifth inning that scored Felix Pie for 1-0 lead.

Down on the farm, Triple-A Norfolk left-hander Zach Britton allowed two runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings against Durham, with one walk and five strikeouts. He threw 101 pitches, 63 for strikes. The Tides are leading, 6-2, in the seventh.
Ryan Adams has Double-A Bowie’s only hit in six innings.
Trent Mummey has three hits, including a triple, and two RBIs for Single-A Delmarva. Matt Hobgood allowed two runs and five hits in four innings, with no walks and three strikeouts.
