A victory tonight in Chicago would give the Orioles their fourth series win in seven series since Buck Showalter took over as manager on Aug. 3. The Orioles won just four of their first 34 series this year.
The Orioles are 1-9 in games that decide the winner of a three-game series, including 0-4 on the road. Their only win came May 13 against Seattle.

Luke Scott leads the American League in slugging percentage (.671) and is second in OPS (1.044) and home runs (eight) for the month of August.
At 13-10, the Orioles are on pace for their first winning month since they went 15-12 in June of 2008 (minimum five games in a month). The last time the Orioles recorded a winning month of August was 1997 (18-10).
Double-A Bowie second baseman Ryan Adams (.302, 13 homers, 62 RBIs) and DH Joel Guzman (.271, 29 homers, 83 RBIs) have been named to the 2010 Eastern League All-Star Team.
