Left-hander Brian Matusz took a two-hit shutout into the fifth inning, but Jed Lowrie deposited a 91 mph fastball into the left field seats with one out and Mike Lowell on base to reduce the Orioles’ lead to 3-2.

Tyler Townsend hit his third home run for Single-A Frederick. He’s accounted for both of the Keys’ hits through six innings.
Single-A Delmarva’s Matt Hobgood allowed one run and five hits over five innings.
Manny Machado, serving as short-season Single-A Aberdeen’s designated hitter, is 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
