Heston Kjerstad marks his return to the majors by starting in left field tonight for the series opener against the Guardians.
Ryan O’Hearn is the first baseman and Adley Rutschman is the designated hitter. Ryan Mountcastle is on the bench.
Cedric Mullins is in center field and Anthony Santander is in right, which also puts Colton Cowser on the bench.
Gunnar Henderson has reached base in 30 straight games. Per STATS, the only other Orioles shortstop to do it in 30 or more consecutive games is Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. – twice at 30 in a row in 1986 and in 46 straight in 1998.
The Orioles won their last two games against Cleveland with their starters going at least seven innings with only one run allowed. The last time they got three consecutive starts like this against an opponent was in 2017 versus the Royals, per STATS. The last time against Cleveland was in 1978.

The latest update in All-Star Game voting was announced today and Mountcastle has passed the Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for first place among American League first basemen. Mountcastle has 1,400,373 votes and Guerrero has 1,338,688.
Rutschman continues to lead catchers with 1,638,425 votes, compared to 1,033,099 for the Royals’ Salvador Pérez. Henderson’s 1,551,124 votes puts him in first place among shortstops, with Kansas City’s Bobby Witt Jr. next at 987,689.
The Guardians’ José Ramírez leads third basemen with 1,426,755 votes, and Jordan Westburg is next with 846,352.
The top six outfielders advance to Phase 2, and that group currently includes Santander (fifth with 808,100) and Cowser (sixth with 649,710). Mullins moved up to eighth with 512,352.
Second baseman Jorge Mateo is in third place with 646,527 votes, trailing Houston’s Jose Altuve (1,233,299) and the Rangers’ Marcus Semien (963,423). O’Hearn is fourth among designated hitters with 687,374 votes. The Astros’ Yordan Álvarez is first with 963,519.
Voting expires on Thursday at noon.
Single-A Delmarva infielder Aron Estrada was named Carolina League Player of the Week. He batted .375 with a double, triple, two home runs, six RBIs, six runs and four stolen bases.
