With the Orioles deciding today that Jake Arrieta’s season is over, here are his Major League numbers in some detail from this year.
Arrieta told reporters today he has a bone spur in his right elbow, it does not cause him pain or any problems when pitching, he said, but he will undergo a procedure to remove it and Arrieta will not pitch any more this year.
*Arrieta was 6-6, 4.66 in 18 Orioles starts.

Arrieta’s numbers improved each month:
June: 2-1, 6.20 in four starts.
July: 1-2, 5.01 in six starts.
August: 1-3, 4.45 in five starts.
September: 2-0, 2.60 in three starts.
Left-handed batters hit .315 with an OPS of .898 vs. Arrieta, while right-handed batters hit .213/.594 against him.
In six starts vs. AL East opponents, Arrieta went 3-1, 4.15.
