Left-hander Trevor Rogers has joined the Orioles in Tampa and is on the taxi squad.
The Orioles need a starter on Wednesday and Rogers appears to be the choice. He tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings against the Red Sox in Game 2 of a May 24 doubleheader in Boston.
Coby Mayo is out of the lineup again tonight, as the Orioles try to bounce back from last night’s 7-1 loss to the Rays. Ryan O’Hearn is playing first base and Cedric Mullins is the designated hitter.
Colton Cowser is in center field. Jordan Westburg is the third baseman and cleanup hitter.
Gunnar Henderson has a 10-game hitting streak. He’s slashing .322/.402/.411 (29-for-90) in his last 24 games.
Since May 8, Henderson is slashing .387/.472/.613 (12-for-31) with runners in scoring position.
Adley Rutschman has homered three times in his last 11 games since June 4 after hitting three in his previous 53.
Orioles relievers have posted a 1.84 ERA over the last 22 games since May 24, the second-lowest mark in the majors. Four runs scored in seven innings on June 12 when Dean Kremer followed an opener. He’s starting tonight.
The bullpen owns a 21.2 percent inherited runner scoring rate, which is the second-lowest behind the Dodgers’ 19.5. Seranthony Domínguez has allowed one inherited to score among 19 runners and Keegan Akin has let one score among 17 runners. They carry the lowest percentages in the majors at 5.3 and 5.9, respectively.
The Orioles have drawn at least one walk in 149 straight games since July 2, 2024, the longest active stretch in the majors and second-longest in franchise history behind a 155-game span from June 23, 1955-June 24, 1956.
