Reimold and Felix Pie could be competing for one outfield spot. Pie doubled and scored in the first, and also made a nice running catch in right-center field. Reimold hit a ball that cleared everything.
Craig Tatum singled with one out in the second, but broke too soon for second and was out stealing.
Update: Brad Bergesen also tossed a scoreless second, throwing 10 of 17 pitches for strikes. Pedro Alvarez led off with a ground-rule double, but Bergesen retired the next three batters, striking out Garrett Jones. That’s 17 strikes among 27 pitches for Bergesen.
