The Orioles also could choose to bring up a minor league pitcher, with Chris Jakubauskas being one possibility.
Matusz had a wart removed from his left middle finger after his first spring start. He was hit on the left biceps by an L.J. Hoes line drive last Monday during a minor league game, but he threw off a bullpen mound on Wednesday in Sarasota and was deemed ready for the regular season.
