If you don’t know Warning Track Power already, I suspect you soon will. Or at least you’ll be humming their new, upbeat orange-and-black anthem.
The Baltimore-based band, which released an Orioles-inspired song, “How Bout Dem O’s,” in 2009 is back with an equally catchy tune to kick off the 2011 baseball season. Here’s “Oh Oh Orioles.”

The Baltimore-based band, which released an Orioles-inspired song, “How Bout Dem O’s,” in 2009 is back with an equally catchy tune to kick off the 2011 baseball season. Here’s “Oh Oh Orioles.”
There’s a lot to like about this song, from the backyard-and-basement locales (complete with Bawlmer-style rowhomes) and the historically accurate use of official team logos – from the 1950s oriole that welcomed the team from St. Louis to the cartoon bird of the glory years of the late 1960s and early 1970s to the quickly bypassed “Fun Bird” to the accurate ornithological representation that’s come to roost on Camden Yards caps. The baseball on the microphone stand? Subtle yet priceless.
You can download the song here for $1. Next to the mammoth Big Boog pit sandwich on Eutaw Street, that might the best early-season bargain in Birdland. It’s easily perfect between-innings fodder on the high-def scoreboard in center field.
“Oh Oh Orioles” was written by Chris Myers and is performed by Warning Track Power members Steve Colmus, George French, Mike Gittings, Adam Hopkins, Chris Laun, Myers and Mike Ward. Note the nice array of replica jerseys the band is donning.
Enjoy!
