The never-ending saga of the changing Orioles rotation will play out next in New York as the O’s begin a series at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.
All the starters for that series are officially listed right now as TBA. Manager Buck Showalter said today that Chris Tillman will pitch either Tuesday or Wednesday. It could be that Brad Bergesen’s time in the minors will be very short and he returns to pitch the other game.

All the starters for that series are officially listed right now as TBA. Manager Buck Showalter said today that Chris Tillman will pitch either Tuesday or Wednesday. It could be that Brad Bergesen’s time in the minors will be very short and he returns to pitch the other game.
Bergesen was just sent out yesterday, but could return before 10 days are up if he replaces an injured player like J.J. Hardy on the active roster.
Showalter has two options for Thursday, as both Zach Britton and Jake Arrieta would be going that night on normal rest. It would seem Britton is making that choice pretty clear by going 2-0 with an ERA of 0.66 through two starts; Arrieta gave up eight runs last night.
It would seem unlikely that either Britton or Arrieta would be asked to pitch Wednesday on three days’ rest.
Heck, Britton has faced two teams that made last year’s playoffs already, so why not a third? Why not let the kid take his shot at the Bombers in Yankee Stadium for his next act?
