Nick & Christina Markakis to Light Washington Monument for Holiday Season this Thursday
Orioles right fielder NICK MARKAKIS and his wife CHRISTINA will participate in “A Monumental Occasion,” the 38th annual lighting of the Washington Monument, this Thursday, December 3 in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood.

Orioles right fielder NICK MARKAKIS and his wife CHRISTINA will participate in “A Monumental Occasion,” the 38th annual lighting of the Washington Monument, this Thursday, December 3 in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood.
Nick and Christina will flip the switch to illuminate the Monument, marking the start of the holiday season in the city. The event will also feature refreshments, roving entertainers and fireworks. Pre-event festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the lighting ceremony will start at 7:00.
Rick Dempsey to Light Great Tree in Fells Point this Saturday
Former Orioles catcher and current MASN broadcaster RICK DEMPSEY will participate in the Fells Point Olde Tyme Christmas celebration this Saturday, December 5. Dempsey will light the Great Tree in Broadway Square at approximately 5:15 p.m. The all-day event will also feature a visit from St. Nick, horse drawn sleigh rides, a parade of lighted boats and live music.
