Manager Buck Showalter told reporters in Kansas City that Reynolds will be hitting in another spot tomorrow afternoon. But he also pointed out that Reynolds’ slotting is up to the third baseman, who began tonight batting .168 with three homers and 15 RBIs.

Reynolds is in a 3-for-25 slump. Or it’s a 5-for-36 slump if you go back to his last 10 games. Or it’s a 7-for-62 slump if you go back to April 14.

Reynolds was 2-for-11 lifetime as a No. 8 hitter before tonight, with one home run in his three games. He singled off Kyle Davies and scored, so make him 3-for-12.

The Orioles were leading, 2-0, in the bottom of the second until Jeff Francoeur homered to lead off the inning. Nick Markakis drove in the second run with a two-out single in the top of the second, but Robert Andino was thrown out at the plate by such a wide margin, he didn’t bother to slide.

That’s a bad send by third base coach John Russell. Andino didn’t have a chance.
