The Orioles today announced that RHP RADHAMES LIZ has been claimed off of waivers by the San Diego Padres.
Liz, 26, appeared in two games for the Orioles in 2009, allowing 10 earned runs in 1.1 innings of work. In eight starts for Double-A Bowie, Liz was 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA (48.0IP, 14ER) and in 17 games (six starts) for Triple-A Norfolk, Liz was 0-3 with a 5.68 ERA (44.1IP, 28ER).

Waters, 29, cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Norfolk. He appeared in five games (one start) for Baltimore in 2009, going 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA (11.2IP, 7ER). He went 9-7 with a 4.49 ERA (114.1IP, 57 ER) in 29 games (20 starts) for the Tides.
Waters was 3-5 with a 5.01 ERA (64.2IP, 36ER) in 11 starts for Baltimore in 2008.
