Maybe this time it is for real.

They are not exactly mashing the ball, but the Orioles have produced 10 hits or more in four of the last five games. They have 55 hits and a team average of .293 in the stretch, even including being shutout on Friday night.

The Orioles had five extra-base hits, with three doubles and two homers on Saturday, the most they’ve had since producing five on April 13 against New York.

The Orioles had ten hits or more just five times in the season’s first 20 games. They have done it 10 times over the last 18 games, a better trend of course.

Again, 19 runs is not even an average of four per game in the stretch, but the .293 team average is encouraging and maybe a sign that finally the offense could get better.
