The Orioles are expected to place first baseman Derrek Lee and infielder Cesar Izturis on the disabled list before tomorrow night’s game against the Yankees at Camden Yards.
Brandon Snyder and Troy Patton, summoned from Triple-A Norfolk, will take their places on the 25-man roster.
Lee has a strained left oblique. Izturis has nerve irritation in his right hand that’s causing two of his fingers to go numb.

Manager Buck Showalter confirmed the decision to place Izturis on the disabled list during his pregame session with the media, though the move won’t become official until tomorrow. Izturis underwent an MRI today in Baltimore and met with team physician Dr. John Wilckens.
No makeup date has been announced for tonight’s postponed game at Fenway Park. As I wrote in my last entry, the Orioles return to Boston July 7-10 and Sept. 19-21, so they’ll be subjected to another doubleheader.
Update: Zach Britton and Jeremy Guthrie will start the two games against the Yankees at Camden Yards.
