Maybe you managed to protect your prized baseball card collection from your mother’s evil clutches. Perhaps you were lucky enough to snag a Cal Ripken Jr. autographed baseball during one of the Iron Man’s marathon signing sessions at Camden Yards. Did you luck into a World Series ring from the O’s glory days? Or are you still holding onto that Gus Triandos chewing gum you picked up off the field at Memorial Stadium back in 1955?
Whatever your prized baseball collectible, you’re probably wondering what it’s worth. Well, the folks at Sports Legends Museum have an upcoming event that will probably interest you.
On Saturday, June 4, Sports Legends will host a free memorabilia appraisal fair from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Professional appraisers from Grey Flannel Auctions will be on hand to take a look at your treasures and tell you just how valuable they are (or aren’t). Experts in the following fields will be available: game-used/game-worn jerseys and equipment; autographs; championship jewelry, trophies and awards; pre-1950s sports cards; and rock and roll, political, entertainment, historical memorabilia and Americana.
Walk-ins are welcome, no appointment is necessary and the appraisal is free with museum admission.
For more information, contact Matt Oates of Grey Flannel Auctions at 631-288-7800, ext. 231 or matt@greyflannelauctions.com.
If you’ve never visited Sports Legends Museum, it’s a real treat for fans of Baltimore sports. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $4 for children 3-12. The museum is located at 301 W. Camden St., adjacent to Camden Yards.
