The Toronto Blue Jays have taken a 3-0 lead to the bottom of the third tonight against Zach Britton and the Orioles.
This would probably be a bad time to remind everyone that Toronto went 15-3 against the Orioles last year and has won 20 of the last 26 games between the teams. They out-homered the Orioles last season 34-8 in the 18 games.

It wasn’t a longball tonight, but a Mark Reynolds’ error that helped Toronto to two runs in the second. After a leadoff single by Juan Rivera, catcher J.P. Arencibia hit a grounder to the left of Reynolds at third. It looked like he would get at least one out on the play and had a chance for a double play.
But Reynolds didn’t reach out for the ball until it went by him. Even though he never touched that ball it was ruled an error and I agree with that. I don’t know if something kept Reynolds from seeing the ball, it sure appeared like it.
An RBI single by Aaron Hill followed and later in the inning, Arencibia scored from third on a wild pitch by Britton that squirted under Matt Wieters’ glove.
Yunel Escobar, whose 12-game batting streak ended in Toronto’s last game, doubled to lead off the third and scored on Rivera’s sac fly.
Opponent American League batters were hitting just .210 off Britton through his first nine starts, but went 18-for-50 (.360) against him in his past two starts.
I don’t think there is any reason to get concerned about that, but it is worth noting.
