The term June swoon does not apply to Mark Reynolds. After starting June hitless in five at-bats in the month’s first two games, he is 8-for-24 with five homers and 11 RBIs.
His June OPS is 1.244 after he picked up his first two-homer game as an Oriole last night. It was his 10th career two-homer game.
After picking up five hits, three of them homers, over the last three games, Reynolds is now batting .205. This is his highest average since he was at .212 on April 19.

The month has also featured Reynolds’ first career grand slam, which came June 4 against Toronto. Reynolds’ 12 homers leads the Orioles and he has homered eight times at Camden Yards. He has seven solo shots, three two-run homers and one each driving in three and four runs.
Since hitting just two homers in April, Reynolds now has homered 10 times over the last 36 games since May 1st. That is a 45-homer pace when projected over 162 games.
Reynolds hit 44 homers two years ago.
I won’t say Reynolds is really rapping them right now, we’ve gone there too many times probably. But he’s been pretty fun to watch at bat recently for sure.
