Yes, Lee’s been playing this game for a while.
“I hit that one good,” he said of tonight’s shot into the left field seats off Cincinnati’s Jose Arrendondo. “It felt good to finally get one over the fence.”
The ball traveled an estimated 381 feet for Lee’s fifth homer of the season.
“It felt good to finally get a big hit, and it went over the fence,” he said. “It was definitely a good feeling. Hopefully, I can continue.”
Someone actually asked Lee whether he’s previously hit a home run on Fireworks Night.
“On a Fireworks Night? I don’t know. I guess,” he said.
“I knew I got that one. I put a good swing on that one. If that one didn’t go over the fence, we would have had some problems.”
Lee sent a sellout crowd home happy. Well, after the fireworks.
“This place is a beautiful park,” he said. “When the seats are full, it’s definitely a nice electricity. It would be nice to get a few more nights like that.”
