Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail doesn’t expect to have an update on Chad Moeller’s situation before tomorrow.
MacPhail is checking whether any clubs have openings for Moeller on their 25-man roster, but he doesn’t sound optimistic that it will happen.
Moeller apparently hasn’t given an indication whether he’d accept an assignment to Triple- A Norfolk.

Koji Uehara will undergo an MRI today or tomorrow to determine whether he sustained a more serious injury to his left hamstring or lower back. He’s headed to the disabled list.
Is the same true of Kam Mickolio? We’re still waiting for find out, but it’s a possibility.
Another day passed without Mickolio throwing a side session. He told me earlier today that his groin is feeling better – an awkward conversation – and that the discomfort never was that extreme. However, he’s running out of time to make the 12-man pitching staff. I just don’t see it happening anymore.
Brian Roberts is making his third consecutive start today. He won’t travel to Port Charlotte tomorrow. Neither will Adam Jones or Cesar Izturis. All three players will stay back in Sarasota and work with hitting coach Terry Crowley.
Expanding on Roberts, manager Dave Trembley said, “He’s trying to get in baseball shape now. He says he’s fine. Let’s cross our fingers and hope he keeps it going.”
Jason Berken won’t be asked to throw more than 50 pitches today.
“He’s not going to go very far today,” Trembley said. “He doesn’t need to throw more than 50 pitches for me.”
Brandon Waring will start at third base tomorrow.
