In the last 33 games, Orioles’ starters have completed seven innings just four times with Guthrie doing it twice, Arrieta once and Alfredo Simon once. The starting pitching ERA is 7.27 in that span.
Over the last 22 games, O’s starters are 4-13 with a 8.20 ERA and have completed six or more innings just five times.
Tonight’s starter, Simon, went seven innings and allowed just two runs in his most recent start on Saturday against Cleveland in an Orioles’ win.
Then Guthrie and Arrieta pitched to a combined ERA of 3.21 in the last two games against the Red Sox.
It’s a start. For the starting pitching.
