Any way you slice it, bullying isn’t welcome – in school, on teams, in the workplace, in life.
The Orioles have released an 80-second anti-bullying public service announcement in support of the It Gets Better Project and The Trevor Project. O’s pitchers Jake Arrieta, Jason Berken, Zach Britton, Michael Gonzalez and Kevin Gregg appear in the PSA, delivering encouragement to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth who are being bullied.

The Orioles have released an 80-second anti-bullying public service announcement in support of the It Gets Better Project and The Trevor Project. O’s pitchers Jake Arrieta, Jason Berken, Zach Britton, Michael Gonzalez and Kevin Gregg appear in the PSA, delivering encouragement to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth who are being bullied.
The Orioles join the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox as the trendsetting major league clubs who have joined this anti-bullying effort by producing videos. The baseball videos are among more than 20,000 videos that have been posted on www.itgetsbetter.org since the project was launched in September 2010, after a rise in the number of of teenagers who committed suicide or were victims of anti-gay harassment and bullying.
“The Orioles are proud to support the It Gets Better Project and the Trevor Project,” said Director of Communications Greg Bader. “Bullying of any kind, for any reason, is unacceptable to our organization, and we are pleased to have our players speak out against this behavior in the hope it will provide encouragement to LGBT youth, and all children, who are facing hatred and prejudice.”
