Garcia has a nasty changeup today. Orioles hitters need to make note of it.
Garcia’s two fastballs to Davis were clocked at 83 and 84 mph.
Orioles starter Jake Arrieta threw 21 pitches in the bottom of the first, when the Yankees loaded the bases without scoring. Manager Buck Showalter would like to stay off the dugout phone if at all possible.
Update: Davis led off the top of the fourth by flying to left field on a 1-0 pitch.
Vladimir Guerrero is 0-for-2 and has stranded three runners.
Arrieta has allowed three hits, walked three batters and thrown 54 pitches in three innings, but he’s still ahead, 1-0, on Adam Jones’ infield hit in the top of the third that scored Robert Andino, who swiped two bases.
Felix Pie was thrown out trying to steal second to end the top of the fourth, and he appeared to injure his left wrist.
