The Orioles have summoned reliever Jason Berken from Triple-A Norfolk, and he could be officially recalled if the club decides to place infielder Cesar Izturis on the 15-day disabled list.
Izturis left yesterday’s game in the fifth inning with a strained left groin, and he’s “probably a little more sore” today, according to manager Buck Showalter.
It’s possible that a roster move will be announced later today.

Berken could fill the bullpen spot vacated by left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes, who will start tomorrow night against the White Sox.
The Orioles optioned Berken on July 31. He’s 1-2 with a 6.27 ERA in 31 games, with 52 hits in 37 1/3 innings.
First baseman Chris Davis (shoulder) jokingly placed his name in the lineup on the magnetic board outside the clubhouse, but he couldn’t convince Showalter. Davis hit in the indoor cage and will take batting practice outside. Showalter believes that Davis will be fully available tomorrow.
Shortstop J.J. Hardy (ankle) is in tonight’s lineup, and he’ll stay there as long as he doesn’t have any setbacks during batting practice.
Also, left-hander Zach Britton is scheduled to start Sunday at Double-A Bowie. Britton’s shoulder already feels better after he began taking anti-inflammatory medication, and “he’s able to do some things that bothered him before,” Showalter said.
Jake Arrieta will fly to California tomorrow and meet Wednesday with orthopedic specialist Dr. Lewis Yocum. Surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow is expected later in the week.
