Mayo and Mountcastle in Orioles lineup vs. Tigers

LAKELAND, Fla. – Coby Mayo is playing third base this afternoon as the Orioles make their second trip to Lakeland to play the Tigers.
This is Mayo’s first appearance since last Tuesday in West Palm Beach, when he was 4-for-4 with five RBIs. He’s 13-for-26 with a 1.195 OPS in 10 games.
Colton Cowser is leading off and playing center field, followed by catcher Samuel Basallo, first baseman Pete Alonso and designated hitter Ryan Mountcastle.
Mountcastle exited Wednesday’s game in Sarasota after being hit on the right hand.
Heston Kjerstad is in left field today.
Chris Bassitt is making his fourth appearance. He’s allowed four earned runs and six hits in nine innings.
José Espada and Rico Garcia also will pitch today after returning from the World Baseball Classic.
Albert Suárez starts Wednesday afternoon against the Blue Jays in Dunedin. Dean Kremer starts Thursday afternoon’s split-squad game against the Yankees in Tampa, and left-hander Trevor Rogers starts the night game against the Pirates in Sarasota.
