The word comes from Baker himself, who posted this Saturday night on his Twitter page.

The lefty hitter, who turns 24 September 10, earlier posted solid numbers for the Pirates with Bradenton of the Florida State League. There he hit .282 with 21 doubles, 15 homers, 73 RBIs and an OPS of .820 over 103 games.
Joe Mahoney, the Orioles 2010 minor league player of the year, has been playing first at Bowie. With Baker also on that team, one could DH some and Mahoney has also played some in left field for the Baysox.
Update: Baker is expected in Bowie today, but there is a slight chance he may not be activated. The Baysox have had a player or two dealing with some nagging injuries and, with a doubleheader scheduled there today for 4 p.m., Baker was sent there in case he is needed. With today’s rain, that twin bill could be rained out and Bowie would not make any roster moves today. Plus the Baysox have Monday off.
I have also heard that even if Baker were activated for today’s doubleheader, there is a chance he would still return to the Frederick team and his moving to Double-A could be temporary. Stay tuned on this one.
