Nick Markakis singled in the fifth inning to drive in his third run of the game, and Vladimir Guerrero added a two-run single to increase the Orioles’ lead to 6-1.
Markakis has his second multi-RBI game since July 18. He hadn’t driven in more than two runs since June 10, when he collected six RBIs against Tampa Bay.
Guerrero hit into two double plays before his two-run single. He’s 5-for-11 with four RBIs since being lowered to fifth in the order.

The inning started with Nolan Reimold’s double, making him 2-for-3 today. J.J. Hardy lined out, but Markakis and Adam Jones singled. Jones took second on left fielder Andy Dirks’ ill-advised throw to third base, which allowed him to score on Guerrero’s single.
Get all that?
Left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes lasted only four innings in his first start with the Orioles, allowing four runs and five hits, walking two and striking out none.
It’s been a different story today.
Reyes has given up one run – on the Ramon Santiago homer – and four hits in six innings, with two walks and four strikeouts. He’s thrown 93 pitches, 53 for strikes, so his day is nearing an end.
Here’s wishing a happy 81st birthday to Earl Weaver.
Update: Markakis singled again for his first three-hit game since July 24. He also drove in his fourth run and knocked Doug Fister out of the game.
Jones also had an RBI single, giving him three hits today.
Willie Eyre replaced Reyes in the seventh inning, so the line I provided above is final.
