masn-baseballs-orioles.jpgThe Orioles got a fourth straight well-pitched game, along with clutch hits from Craig Tatum and Mark Reynolds, as they beat Minnesota 6-1 this afternoon to complete a four-game series sweep.

It’s the Orioles’ first four-game sweep in Minnesota and the first time they have won four in a row there since April 15 to Sept. 5, 2000. They outscored the Twins 24-4 in the series.

Jo-Jo Reyes gave up just one run and five hits over six innings, throwing 107 pitches. The starting pitching ERA was 1.38 in the series as Orioles starters combined to pitch 26 innings against the Twins, allowing 19 hits and four earned runs.

Tatum’s two-run double in the sixth inning gave the O’s a 3-1 lead after Robert Andino drew a bases-loaded walk in the second.

Reynolds hit a three-run homer in the seventh for a 6-1 lead. It was his second homer in two games and 29th on the year. Reynolds went 7-for-17 in the series with two homers and seven RBIs and is batting .333 over his last nine games.

The Orioles have their first four-game road winning streak since Aug. 27- Sept. 7, 2010.

The Orioles finished 5-5 on this road trip and are now 51-77 on the season and 20-18 against the American League Central. They begin a homestand Friday night, hosting the Yankees.
