The Orioles battered Yankees starter A.J. Burnett in the second inning.
Mark Reynolds hit his 30th home run with one out in the second, and the Orioles strung together four straight doubles from Ryan Adams, Nolan Reimold, Matt Angle and Robert Andino.
J.J. Hardy followed with his 25th home run – breaking an 0-for-29 streak against the Yankees – and Nick Markakis reached on Burnett’s fielding error.
The Orioles led 6-0 and nobody was warming in the Yankees’ bullpen.

Reynolds is the first Orioles player with 30 homers since Aubrey Huff hit 32 in 2008. This is the second time he’s homered in three straight games this season. It also happened July 2-4.
Meanwhile, the Yankees aren’t happy with the Orioles’ refusal to play a doubleheader today.
A tentative plan, should tomorrow’s doubleheader be postponed, calls for the Orioles to play two games Sunday, one Monday and another on a mutual off-day on Sept. 8.
Yankees player rep Curtis Granderson issued the following statement:
“Given the advance notice and the fact that other teams have adjusted their schedules ahead of time, we are perplexed at the current options we are being presented with in regards to making up any games postponed due to Hurricane Irene.
“The proposition to take away our only full off day in the final month of the season is not an option, even though the Orioles’ front office and the Commissioner’s office think this is an adequate solution. It’s a shame that the decision has now come down to possibly having ot play four games in two days or having to come back to Baltimore for another makeup game.”
