Cal Ripken Jr.’s diplomatic mission to Japan continued today with what the Iron Man most enjoys: the opportunity to teach the game he loves. Ripken and former Orioles teammate Brady Anderson were joined by Sachio Kinugasa, Japan’s version of Ripken as far as consecutive games played, and MLB Asia’s Jim Small on a couple of clinics for girls and boys in Tokyo.

The youngsters were clearly thrilled for the opportunity to learn from a Hall of Famer, as this YouTube video shows:
Each school visited by Ripken’s group gets a donation of equipment and merchandise from partners like Rawlings, Under Armour and Major League Baseball.
Ripken’s entourage will travel from Tokyo and head to parts of Japan most affected by the March earthquake and tsunami.
