SARASOTA, Fla. – The Red Sox brought a few of their top players to Ed Smith Stadium today, perhaps their way of jabbing at manager Buck Showalter for the lineup he posted at their Fort Myers complex.
Just a hunch.

Just a hunch.
Dana Eveland allowed three runs in two innings today, but only one was earned because of Chris Davis’ throwing error with one out in the second. Nate Spears flied out, which should have put Eveland back in the dugout, but Dustin Pedroia followed with a two-run double to left-center field.
Jacoby Ellsbury singled, but left fielder Wilson Betemit threw out Pedroia at the plate.
Eveland allowed six hits, walked one and struck out two.
Zach Phillips retired the side in order in the third. Chris Tillman has entered the game in the fourth.
Robert Andino walked against Boston left-hander Jon Lester to lead off the bottom of the first, stole second and scored on Adam Jones’ one-out single. That’s the Orioles’ lone hit so far.
The first round of roster cuts are coming. The players have been notified, and we’re waiting for the official announcement.
You have to figure that Dylan Bundy is heading back to the minor league complex.
I forgot to mention earlier that Ryan Flaherty hit a two-run, opposite-field homer in the B game. Scott Beerer had an RBI single.
