SARASOTA, Fla. – Jai Miller is starting in center field today for the Orioles, which is a switch. He’s been a corner outfielder.
Also, Wei-Yin Chen gets the start against the Blue Jays, a decision that manager Buck Showalter confirmed after yesterday’s game. And John Hester is behind the plate again today instead of Taylor Teagarden, who’s been receiving treatment for lower back stiffness.
For the Orioles:
Endy Chavez LF
Robert Andino 2B
Nick Johnson DH
Joe Mahoney 1B
Jai Miller CF

Meanwhile, I’m questionable for today’s game because I’m having more technical issues. I can no longer plug my charger into my iPhone, and I don’t know why. The battery is draining and I need to visit the Verizon Wireless store for a third time. I’m just deciding whether to do it in the morning and attempt to arrive in Dunedin before first pitch, go to the game and hope my phone doesn’t die before I get to the store this evening – assuming I make it before closing – or just concede that I’ll never see Dunedin.
I’ve never been there in the three years that the Orioles have held spring training in Sarasota, which is odd. I guess they’ve had split-squad games on those days and I’ve stayed here.
