SARASOTA, Fla. – Tsuyoshi Wada is waiting to find out whether he’s going to be included on the 25-man roster or if he’ll stay back at extended spring training.
Is he ready to start the season?
“I feel like my condition is normal,” Wada said through his interpreter. “It’s not really good and it’s not really bad. It’s normal. If I’m going to throw next week in the season, I’ll work on it and get more ready, get my body condition more ready for the season.

“I’m ready to go to Baltimore.”
Wada gave up one run in five innings today, on J.J. Hardy’s homer, while pitching for the State College of Florida. He threw 75 pitches, 50 for strikes.
“I felt a lot better than last time,” he said. “My fastball was a lot better. A little bit of hop today. Curveball and breaking balls a lot better than last time.”
Wada only pitched in two Grapefruit League games, allowing one run in two innings against the Atlanta Braves and four runs in three innings to the Minnesota Twins. He also allowed one unearned run in three innings in a minor league game.
Has he earned a spot in the Orioles’ rotation?
“I pitched (75) pitches today and I was ready to throw some more,” he said. “I feel like I pitched well today and I was able to show the coaches that I’m able to pitch.”
